Launched winter 2011 featuring 2 colts. Dual winning Mossgo, won on his racecourse debut and again in December 2012. Limited number of shares available.
In recent years, we have purchased some promising yearlings, which have appreciated in value very quickly. Overall, we always show a healthy profit over the 2 and 3 year old's careers, provided the horses are sold when the best opportunity arises.
Hucking Horses was a small select syndicate that we put together at the beginning of 2006. Due to the success of this, we are now putting together our fifth "Hucking" syndicate. This is aimed at reducing the risk to the individual owner to an absolute minimum and, at the same time, increasing the opportunity to go racing on a more regular basis, whilst showing a profit over a 2 year period.
This syndicate will feature a Moss Vale colt "Mossgo", who won on his racecourse debut at Yarmouth in a 5f maiden 10th April, and an Assertive colt and this is what John had to say about them “the Moss Vale colt is the same sire as Gung Ho Jack who did so well for us this year. This horse reminds me very much of him, although I feel he is a nicer individual with more scope. He has a very willing attitude and a great stride.”
“The Assertive yearling colt is by a sire that caught my eye. Assertive is a first season sire who looks to have really stamped his horses. This lad is a decent size and a great bodied horse with plenty of scope. He is really impressing me on the gallops and, although he doesn’t look to be an early type, he certainly should make a 2 yr old. He looks an exciting prospect from a sire that looks sure to make his mark,” explained John.
Owners will:
- have the benefit of a one-off payment, with no monthly bills or additional costs
- be able to visit the yard and watch the horses on the gallops and developing in their training
- have the opportunity to go racing to many of our top racetracks throughout the year
- be supplied with complimentary owners badges when available, allowing free entry for the day
- have access to the parade ring, with the opportunity to talk to the trainer and jockey
- receive monthly John Best Racing newsletter
- receive regular communication from a dedicated Racing Manager with details of where and when the races are to take place, along with times and jockey bookings

Syndicate rules
The syndicate will comprise of two horses an Assertive colt (pictured above) and a Moss Vale colt (pictured opposite).
The syndicate will consist of 10 shares.
The syndicate will run from 1 November 2011 until 31 October 2013.
There will be one initial payment of £10,000. This will cover costs such as:
- purchasing the horse
- training fees
- farrier's fees
- vet's fees
- jockey's fees
- race entry fees
- transport
