Winner and Group placed Stone of Folca
Would you like to be an owner of the fastest horse in the world since electronic timing began? For £750 (all in) a small number of shares are available in record breaking Stone of Folca, winner of the Dash last year.
Folkestone Racecourse Owners Group's (FROG) Stone of Folca returned from his winter break last year to win his 2012 debut with a blistering turn of speed. What could he do this year? He's come out of his winter break relaxed and healthy. He's been working on the gallops and trainer John Best is impressed with his progress and is looking forward to another exciting year of thrilling racing with this world record breaking horse. We are offering a limited number of shares at £750 for each 1/120ths which will cover his purchase and training until October 2013.
Stone of Folca as a 2 yr old was placed 2nd on his racecourse debut in a hotly contested 5f Windsor Novice Stakes and put in a strong performance in the Windsor Castle Stakes (Listed Race) on Day One of Royal Ascot to take 4th place. He then went on to take 4th place at the same meeting in the Norfolk Stakes G2. A month later he took 2nd place at Glorious Goodwood in the G3 Molecomb Stakes. He won on his home course as a 3 yr old. He won the Epsom Investec Dash on his 2012 debut, smashing the time for any 5f timed electronically!
Owners will:
- have the advantage of an all inclusive upfront payment with no ongoing or hidden costs
- enjoy any profits from winnings and proceeds from the sale of the horse as these will be shared amongst the owners
- exclusive use of a hospitality suite when the horse runs at Folkestone (subject to availability and excluding food and drink)
- be able to visit the yard and watch the horse on the gallops and developing in its training
- be supplied with complimentary owners badges when available, allowing free entry for the day
- have access to the parade ring, with the opportunity to talk to the trainer and jockey
- receive newsletters/photos when appropriate containing information on the horse's progress
- receive regular communication with details of where and when the races are to take place, along with times and jockey bookings
How it works
This option will run until October 2013.
Each partner in FROG makes a single payment of £999. This will cover costs such as:
- purchase
- training fees
- farrier's fees
- vet's fees
- jockey's fees
- race entry fees
- transport
There are no hidden extras!
As the horse runs and hopefully wins, John Best will constantly assess his value and choose the opportune time to sell. This could be at any point during the term, in the best interest of the owners, in order to maximize profit or minimize loss. A decision will be made before the end of the term as to where and when the horse is sold. This is likely to be at a public auction.
After the end of the term, each owner will receive his or her share of the proceeds from the sale of the horse (net costs), plus their share of the prize money accumulated.
