Lewamy

July 9th 2012

Sandra and Brian Goodyear's French bred Amadeus Wolf colt made his 2 year old racecourse debut on the French racetrack of Chantilly, just north of Paris.  Lewamy was partnered with top French jockey Christophe Soumillon in the 1,200m Prix Du Soleil De Bretagne race for unraced 2 year old colts.  He broke well, ran in a prominent position although a little green, and was just held to take a well deserved third place for delighted owners Sandra and Brian Goodyear. Trainer John Best said "great racecourse debut from Lewamy and he's sure to improve for the run.  He did everything right with a great attitude and he picked up a very worthwhile 6,300 Euros prize fund (including the French premium).  Our base in Kent makes trips to French courses very accessible and our owners seem to enjoy racing with a European flavour!"
