Hucking Horses IV

Could you be an owner of the next Kingsgate Native?

In the village of Hucking, Kent, John Best trains his string of horses.

In the past John has been responsible for the likes of Kingsgate Native, dual Group One winner as well as Hurricane Spirit, Kingsgate Bay, Kingsgate Prince and Classic placed Group Two winner Rising Cross.

2008's two-year-olds included Royal Ascot winner Flashmans Papers, Square Eddie winner of the Grade 1 Lane's End Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland and Deposer who was sold to Hong Kong for a substantial price after success at last year's Royal Ascot.

2009's winning two year olds included Jairzihno, Freeforaday, Agent Archie, Christopher Wren, Sidney Melbourne, Tenacestream, Elspeth's Boy and Inler.  Many of these won on their racecourse debut and provided fantastic racing for their owners and syndicate members.

This is a chance to be involved in a syndicate of three horses at an all-inclusive cost.

Horse 1
Name: Unnamed at present
Age: 2
Sex: Filly
Sire: Desert Style
Dam: True Love

Trainer: John Best

Description: We have managed to purchase Hucking Hot's sister. She is by Desert Style who is the sire of Hucking Heist and Hucking Hope who both won for the very first Hucking Syndicate.  Hucking Hope won again at Chantilly, France last summer for her current owners.  The hugely successful Hucking Hot was placed in a Listed Race earning herself Black Type and then won her Maiden.  She was sold to the USA for £75,000.  At the recent December 09 sales in Newmarket, she sold in foal, for a staggering 175,000 guineas. Horse 2

Name: Soweto Star (pictured at home on the gallops)

Age: 2
Sex: Colt
Sire: Johannesburg
Dam: Lady of Talent

Trainer: John Best

Description: One of our 2009 Kent Bloodstock horses Chat De La Burg is by the same sire and as you'll have seen in our news section and video blogs has already proved that he's an exciting prospect after putting in an exhilarating performance to win at Kempton last year.  Johannesburg is a very fashionable sire in the USA and is becoming very popular in the UK mainly due to Radiohead (by Johannesburg) who won last year's Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot.  If our colt is successful this will make him a desirable sales prospect to the USA.

How it works

Hucking Horses IV is a racing partnership of 14 shares. Each member owns an equal share in a string of 3 horses selected by John Best, and enjoys the benefits and privileges of ownership with a reduced financial risk.

Aims

With Hucking Horses, John Best aims to offer a wealth of opportunities for partners to go racing - while showing a profit over a two-year period.

A string of three horses greatly reduces the risk to each member. Where a partnership of only one horse could be greatly affected if that single horse were injured, the Hucking Horses string guarantees racedays throughout the year. Involvement with three horses multiplies your chance of owning a star!

Benefits and privileges

As a partner in Hucking Horses 2010, you'll have regular opportunities to go racing with the horses of the string, enjoying complimentary owners' badges when they are available and access to the paddock when the horses run. You will also be invited to visit the horses at John's yard and see them work on the gallops. (The 2nd Hucking Syndicate had the opportunity to go out to St. Moritz in Switzerland and watch one of their horses take part in a race, held on a frozen lake!)

You'll be kept up to date with the latest race entries and jockey bookings, while a regular newsletter keeps you informed of the progress of all the horses. Hucking Horses also offers the advantage of a single upfront payment with no ongoing or hidden costs.

Each partner in Hucking Horses makes a single payment of £10,000 to cover all costs. These include the purchase of the horses, their training, vets' and farriers' fees, race entries, jockey bookings and transport costs. A further payment of £5,000 may be required from each partner on the 31st January 2011, depending on how much prize money has been won, and which horses sold. (The first Hucking Horses partnership had no further payment for their second year.)

As the horses run and, hopefully, win, John Best will constantly assess their value, and choose the opportune time to sell. Each Hucking Horse will be sold at the right moment to make the maximum profit, and all the horses will be sold by the end of the two-year period. Each partner receives his or her share of the proceeds from the sale, plus their share of the prize money accumulated, at the end of the second year.
