Kingsgate Racing III

Launched autumn 2010

In recent years, we have purchased some promising yearlings which have appreciated in value very quickly. Overall, we always show a healthy profit over the two and three year olds' careers, provided the horses are sold when the best opportunity arises.

This small select syndicate will comprise one horse, a chestnut "Compton Place" colt named Saffron Park, and is aimed at reducing the risk to the individual owner to an absolute minimum.

Statistics/information on sire: Champion European 3 year old sprinter and G1sire.  Timeform rated 125.  Sire of G1 winner Borderlescott - the first horse in over a quarter of a century to win back to back Nunthorpe Stakes.  His progeny have won 2 G1s and 31 European Stakes totalling nearly £2.5 million in prize fund.

Owners will:

Call John Best on 07889 362 154 or Helen Williams on 07887 500 777 for more information or to buy a share.

Syndicate rules

The syndicate will comprise the Compton Place colt - Saffron Park.

The syndicate will consist of six shares.

The syndicate will run from 1 October 2010 until 1 October 2012.

There will be one initial payment of £10,000. This will cover costs such as:

There are no hidden extras!

A decision will be made via a vote as to whether the horse is kept in training as a 3 year old.  If this ends in a tie, John will have the final say.

There may be a further payment on 1 October 2011, of a maximum of £5,000. This would be dependent on how much prize money has been won during the previous year.

John Best will decide when and where the horse will run and who will ride, though as this is such a small syndicate owners input will be welcomed.

Accounts will be provided to each owner no later than 01 December 2012 and 01 March 2013 (if required) to show the financial situation at the end of each year.

All monies due will be distributed each year on 31 January.

There will be a racing manager who will organise events, arrange ticket allocation, provide newsletters and inform all owners of progress, race entries, declarations and results.

Any owner can sell their share at any time, and it is their own responsibility to do so.

If any owner fails to make either of the required payments as detailed, within 30 days of the invoice date, the share will then be passed to John Best Racing Ltd at no cost.

The trainer will be entitled to his % as detailed in the terms in the training agreement and the racing manager will receive 5% of all sales proceeds.
