Two to follow
There are some really nice sorts in the yard at the moment, particular among the youngsters. These are two I think are worth following.
Gulch: sire of Two ImpostersTwo Imposters
The first one is a Gulch colt called Two Imposters. He’s a horse I bought in America for John Mayne, and he looks a really strong type that should be out early. We’ve had his knees X-rayed, and the vets have given him the all clear to push on. His dam won at three in France and then went to North America where she won again. She has produced eight foals, six of which have won, including Group and Listed races. This colt also has a three-parts sister who won four of her six races and over $80,000. I’m sure he will give us a lot of fun.
Our classy King's Best colt King’s Best colt
The other one to follow, I think, will be an unnamed two-year-old colt by King’s Best and a half brother of Brave Jack. He is a lot more impressive to look at than his brother, and although he was a cheap purchase, I feel he could be very classy. He has a great temperament and moves really well.
I have been trying to sell him for some time now, but I think people are put off by the price – he’s too cheap! I think I have finally decided that I’m going to keep him and run him in my girlfriend’s name. I hope I’m proved right – then we’ll make a big profit on him maybe later in the year. He’s not an early sort, though, so don’t expect to see him for a while. We’ll think of a name soon.
