Hucking Horses syndicate update

We've had the five horses of the Hucking partnership for several months now, and they're looking really exciting. We've just had all the two-year-olds' knees X-rayed to see if they're physically ready to step up in their training and things are looking promising for these five!

Colt by Pentire Colt by Pentire: showing unexpected speed

Grey colt by Pentire

He’s bred for stamina on both sides of the pedigree, but has been showing more speed than I expected at home. He is very forward mentally and has started to fill out and look much stronger over the last month. Having said that, his knee X-rays showed him still to be a bit immature physically, and so he’ll remain steady for the moment, but I like him a lot.

Hawk Wing colt This Hawk Wing colt is very well bred

Chestnut colt by Hawk Wing

He looks like he needs to fill out a bit more yet, but his general frame is there and he moves really well. His knee X-rays showed him also to be a little immature and again he will stay steady for the moment. He is probably the best bred of the five.

Iron Mask colt Iron Mask colt - brother of Kingsgate Bay

Bay colt by Iron Mask

This colt has improved dramatically since we got him and looks like a proper horse now. His X-rays were good, so we will be moving on with him a bit more now. I still wouldn’t expect him to be very early as his brother, Kingsgate Bay, didn’t really come to hand until the end of the summer – and then won four in a row!

Spartacus filly A lovely daughter of Spartacus

Bay filly by Spartacus

This filly is looking well and her X-rays were also good. She’s very forward mentally and should be one of the earlier ones out. She looks very strong for a filly. I think there’s a bit more growing to come, so I hope she will end up a decent prospect.

Dr Fong colt

This Dr Fong colt should be out early

Chestnut colt by Dr Fong

This colt is the most forward in every way. He’s strong, his X-rays were good, and he’s handling the training really well. I expect him to be one of my first two-year-old runners this year and should be out early April, all being well. He looks a good sort that we can have a lot of fun with.
