John Best Racing - Kent's top racehorse trainer

Marewatch

Rising Cross has had a tough time - she's really only eligible for Group One races, and hasn't really had her ground when we needed it.

She'll probably go to the German St Leger at the end of the month, and then there are a few races at the end of the season where she won't carry a penalty - we need a good run for Gary Tanaka to consider keeping her in training for another year.

Dual winner Samson's Son Dual winner Samsons Son

The broodmares and foals look to be doing well - my mare Santiburi Girl has produced her second winner from two runners with Samsons Son winning at both Yarmouth and Newmarket. She has a yearling by Desert Sun, a foal by Tobougg, and she's in foal to Noverre - I can't wait! G G Racing have foals by Desert Sun and Tobougg too, with their mares Kallista's Pride and Broughton Zest both in foal to Kodiac, a three-parts brother to Invincible Spirit.

Of the other mares, Epineuse and Villarosi are in foal to Kodiac and Chineur respectively, while Daughter's World failed to get in foal, so she'll be off to stud early next year to give her plenty of time.
